Shotover Sports Overview
Shotover Primary School has a wide range of sporting opportunities for our students to engage in. We encourage participation and healthy competition in the sports arena.
Sporting Pathway: Due to the continually increasing numbers in our region, the Central Otago Primary Schools have adjusted our sporting pathway. For the majority of events, children will now compete at a school event then onto a zone qualifier (Wakatipu zone for our children) with reaching the Central Otago championships as the pinnacle for our children.
A large number of our events depend on parent support as volunteers. We’ll need you as coaching, marshals and sometimes for transport. Our parent volunteers don’t need to be experts but if you are an expert in a particular sport or sporting discipline please get in touch!
Sporting Events by Term (this is subject to change):
Please see our school calendar for all event dates. Notification will come from the Sports Coordinator regarding these events via direct message, Shotover Newsletters, Website and the SPS Facebook page. If you have any questions please direct them to: sports@shotover.school.nz
